Baumit builds another plant

Construction on another Baumit plant began in July. The new building mixtures manufacturing plant is being erected in Pobiedziska near Poznań.

Throughout the investment process CDI will fill the position of Contract Engineer. One of our tasks is to be the investment supervisor of all works covered by the building permit which is requirement under Polish law. The scope of works includes the construction of a dry production hall, road works, sanitary drainage system, electric power supply, landscaping, the construction of the wet production hall and office building. Production in the new factory is planned for Spring 2010. Below are some of the parameters of the buildings Dry hall/Wet hall/Office building

Construction of the PORT LODZ shopping centre began at the beginning of November last year with the biggest IKEA showroom in Poland. The investor and developer is Inter IKEA Centre Polska S.A., belonging to the IKEA group.

Our building inspectors have delivered the latest news from the construction site: Monolithic works of the building’s erection, prefabrication and steel works are underway. For several weeks the installation of the roof insulation and roof covering has continued as well as the mounting of the skylights and smoke ventilators. Installation of hangers for the plumbing and electrical wiring on the ground floor and first floor, and delivery of ventilation ducts have also begun. Despite adverse subsurface conditions, works on the drainage and sub-rough systems at car park level continue. Roadworks and the on-site utility system works in the south-west continue, as well as the laying of pavers and road bases for the driveways and car parks. On the same site the network of pipes for the geothermal system were laid while to the south of the aforementioned installation the drilling of boreholes continue.

The total space of the PORT LODZ shopping centre is 120 000 m² , including approximately 33 000 m² for the IKEA store. An asset to this building is the very attractive location – from the city centre to Pabianicka Street takes only 15 minutes by car. The design for this area includes, walkways, wooden terraces, tables and benches, all of which are set amongst shrubs, flowers and trees.
The Lodz Centre will differ from others by the fact that IKEA will be integrated with the buildings of the rest of the shopping centre and share the same entrance. Underground and aboveground car parks will be able to accommodate patrons with over 4500 free parking spaces. The shopping centre will create employment for more than 2 000 people.

RADWAR BUSINESS PARK - work progress

The Science-Production Centre of Professional Electronics (Centrum Naukowo-Produkcyjne Elektroniki Profesjonalnej) in Warsaw is being transformed into the Radwar Business Park. The total area of the centre will increas from 14 638 m² to 23 457 m². The modernized complex will consist of 4 main buildings (A, B, C and D), while the fifth building (E) is being built as a small auxiliary building.

At present stone-mounting , glass-aluminium facades and facades of buildings A, B and C have been finished. The elevation works of building D, including the stone mounting and glass- aluminium facades are in progress. Roofing and fitting works have already been completed. In buildings A and B the lifts are being installed and finishing works – assembly and fitting of plasterboard partition walls, ventilation system, sanitation facilities, wiring and tile laying in the staircases of building A have begun.

At present stone mounting , glass-aluminium facades and facades of A, B and C buildings have been finished. The elevation works of building D, including the stone mounting and glass- aluminium facades are in progress. Roofing and fitting works have been completed. In buildings A and B the lifts are being installed. Finishing works – assembly and fitting of plasterboard partition walls, ventilation system, sanitation facilities, wiring and tile laying in the staircases of building A have begun.

Investment seminar on local markets

On the 16th of June, 2009, several businessmen participated in an investment seminar in Torun. This new strategy of the municipal authorities of attracting investors also saw the presentation of one of the more interesting constructions – the Torun Mills. The Municipal Council presented the mills to two hundred prospective investors. Discussion on related subjects were also held, among them the prospects of the city were analyzed.

The Torun Mills consist of several post-factory buildings erected at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with a total area of 10 606m2 and a cubature of 44 828m3. They are located at Torun East railway station, not far from the city centre.

These large buildings have been deserted for years. The Torun Municipal Council is determined to change that. The mills will make way for the Modernity Centre and the Torun Technological Incubator. The rest is awaiting interest from investors. The design of the mills are to be completed by the end of 2009. Works will commence in 2010 and will last 2 years. The investment will cost 42mln PLN. The majority of the funds will be obtained by the city by the UE Regional Operational Program.

We have already participated in a similar type of investment with the revitalization and modernization of the City Park complex in Poznan. Bydgoszcz junior tennis championship

Once again we warmly support our tennis stars of the future. The elementary school tennis championships begin tomorrow in Bydgoszcz and information about this event is available in the sports edition of Gazeta Pomorska.

The content of this article entitled “Youngsters on the tennis court” is written below.
In the first days of June the KU AZS UKW tennis courts will be crowded with young people. Hopefully the weather will be good for the next edition of the elementary schools competition. From Tuesday to Friday about 200 young girls and boys from 4-6 tennis classes of no. 26, 31 and 66 elementary schools will compete for the city championship. Jakub Bilski, the event organizer, said the aim of the championship is to create proper game conditions, raising the standard of the game for the youngsters. As with all sporting events, a very important aspect is to create an exceptional sporting atmosphere. In this kind of environment children acquire good sportsmanlike habits both on court and off. The finals will be played in each age group on the last day of the championship on 6 different courts. The 18 best competitors will be awarded with trophies, plates and prizes. Transparent Company Certificate for CDI

Dun and Bradstreet Poland and co-partners honoured Euroinwest CDI with the certificate of “Transparent Company”. This certificate is the first of its kind awarded in Poland. The list of awarded companies was announced in March 2009. The prize-winners were selected based on reliability and long term information policy. The main purpose of “Transparent Company” certification was the indication of companies leading overt information policy and promoting proper business practices in this realm. Building frameworks finished
RADWAR Business Park

Day by day the progress of the RADWAR buildings expansion is more visible. Recently frameworks of both buildings were finished. Currently leveling work, stone mounting and glass-aluminum façades are underway. Also the roofing works continue. Preliminary finish works, like floor foundation and plasterboard partitions have also begun. Plaster-works in the staircases continue and installation of the roof insulation and reinforced concrete walls rendering have started in underground parking areas.

Today the Radwar buildings are made up of 5 000 m2 of office area. After the redevelopment the complex will be 23 000 m2, 12 000m2 of which will be occupied by office area. CDI and the modernization of
Jerzego Sulimy-Kaminskiego Bridge in Bydgoszcz

Yesterday, Joanna Lange - Director of Investment Planning Department, answered questions of Gazeta Wyborcza. We invite you to read the article.

Our Investment Planning Team are implementing the plans of the Investor from Bydgoszcz. The bridge is an extremely important part of the city scenery.
We are happy to be takng part in bringing the bridge back to its former glory.

Above – the view on Focha St. and Jagiellonow roundabout (formerly XXX - lecia PRL). Two other bridges are also visible: Bernardynski Bridge (upper) and Jerzego Sulimy - Kamińskiego Bridge (lower).
The renovated bridge is to resemble the pre-war look (picture taken i 1905). It will have a wrought railing, stylish lamps and socles at the entrances. As Gazeta Wyborcza reported earlier, quick renovation of the upper part of the Mostowa St. passage was planned. Today the investment has been finalized by Rafal Jerzy – Chairman of the Board of Makrum. more>

IKEA - News from the building site

Latest developments from the IKEA building site have been reported by our engineers. Recently in the south, prefabricated slabs were laid in two full field lines on the ground floor and in one full field line on the mezzanine. The steel roof construction with cover for two full field lines is almost finished.

The works continue on the water reservoir in axis V01 – V03 , where reinforced concrete monolithic walls including insulation and filling were partially made. However, the works on the reservoir WT04 in axis H07/V12-V16 with insulation, filling, and ground thickening around the reservoir, came to an end.

The road works in the south and west have just begun.
Presently embankments of roads to the designed height are being made.
Soon the kerbstone works will commence.

Construction of City Stadium in Poznan

Once again we have the opportunity to participate in an investment project which will have significant national meaning related to Euro 2012. In January 2009 CDI signed a contract – as the continuation of co-operation with the design office Modern Construction Systems from Poznan. The subject of this contract is exercising Author's Supervision in the range of construction works in particular the functions pursuant to art. 21.1.4) a. of Construction Regulations, i.e. supervision of construction works and their conformity to the design. Starting February 2009 our inspectors began more frequent supervisions of construction works. Expected closing date of the investment project is 18 months until obtaining operating permit.

The construction of continues
RADWAR Business Park
- 26 01 2009

The rebuilding and expansion of one of the largest establishments of the defence industry – The Scientific-Industrial Centre of Professional Electronics RADWAR S.A. has been progressing. The main constituent parts of the rising complex are twin office buildings of LIPSK type built in 1976 and 1977r.

Situated at the intersection of Poligonowa and Ostrobramska streets RADWAR office buildings are being modernized. The LIPSK twin buildings will be captured within the construction. RADWAR Business Park will characterize geometrical body, wide vitrage, and granite elevation. The building complex will have a stylish façade with a two-coloured granite slab and aluminium sidings.

Between the old office buildings and the new-built elements there will be an inner courtyard. Our function was to perform the tender procedure and to select a General Constructor of the investment. Progress of works at the construction site
is progressing on schedule.

Presently, the crude open works of the underground parking and building C (five-storey office building) have been finished. The main fore building has reached four levels. Assembly of the aluminium and glass façade have begun on the adopted LIPSK buildings.

News from IKEA IKEA site

The official opening construction of one of the largest commercial centers in Lodz is now behind us. The IKEA store is part of the Port Lodz complex. CDI is involved, among others, in the management of the construction process and investor’s supervision. Our site office is located approximately 9 km from the city centre of Lodz at the intersection of Pabianicka and Chocianowicka streets.

Construction works are proceeding in accordance with the established schedule. On the southern side reinforced concrete retaining walls for the underground garage were completed. The field between H0 and H03 was covered with prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs covering the underground garage. The planned entrance to the garage is clearly visible from the south. On the southern sideprefabricated reinforced concrete beams were laid in the poles. The works on the prefabricated assembly, monolithic foundations and the underground garage are in progress. Recently the works on the steel frame assembly began. Simultaneously the works on the fire tanks and the sewage pumping station are continuing.

Obligatory Energy Characteristic Certificates
- 20 01 2009
Since 1st January 2009 all new-built buildings transferred to use (except some buildings exempted by ordinance of Minister of Infrastructure) require Energy Characteristic Certificate. This document is obligatory and required by Building Inspectorate where completion of construction has to be reported.

The certificate is a product of European law. The purpose of introducing this law was the promotion of energy effective building industry. The information contained in this certificate will allow owners, leaseholders and occupants to approximately determine a yearly energy requirements ipso facto cost of living related to energy requirements. Energy Characteristic Certificates indicate a building’s energy consumption and should be performed every ten years. Please familiarize yourselves with our offer of Energy Certificates.

We run IKEA investment in Lodz

Located at the intersection of Pabianicka and Chocianowicka streets in Lodz is a huge building site which, in just over a year, will become a shopping centre consisting of 200 outlets and service outlets. The centre will form a triangle shape. One part of the centre will be home to the biggest in Poland IKEA store.

Euroinwest CDI took charge of the IKEA store construction in the construction management system. Our role consists of:

supervision of the project,
preparation of packet documents and contracts
of all types of construction works,
coordination of construction works,

At the same time as the construction of the IKEA store, other works related to the development of the Port Lodz complex have been continuing. The Grand Opening of the shopping centre is scheduled for spring 2010.

RADWAR BUSINESS PARK

"In the middle of 2008 the construction of new office-conference complex at the intersection of Poligonowa and Ostrobramska streets began at full blast. Two twin buildings of LIPSK type from the seventies make up the basis of the construction, which is the property of RADWAR. The building design was developed by PORTAL studio. The selection of General Constructor was taken up by Euroinwest CDI, a consulting company from Bydgoszcz. From among five tenders, BUDIMEX DROMEX SA was chosen as General Constructor of the investment project."

Technical inspections for Volkswagen Poznan

We have pleasure in informing you that Volkswagen Poznan has joined the customers who receive our technical inspections of buildings service.
Our inspectors verified the quality of the existing buildings comprising
a total surface area of 242 170,50 m^2.

Now in the year 2008, the Volkswagen car factory in Antoninek near Poznan has been established for 15 years and is one of the most prosperous companies in Wielkopolska.

Housing estate of one-family houses in Zlotniki

On September the Investment of building of one-family housing estate in Zlotniki near Poznan has started.
Investor - City Park Development S.A.
The estate is located in Suchy Las commune. Seventeen of two-storey houses are being built at this location. Every building will consist of two flats with garden access, usable surface of 146 m2 each, including garage. Houses will arise on plots of 800 to 1200 m2. Investor plans to sell houses in developer state. CDI presently fulfils function of Contract Engineer and provides full-branch investor's supervision.

Extension of City Stadium in Poznan

During March and October 2008 our company participated in extension of City Stadium in Poznan to satisfy needs of Poznan city and EURO 2012. The present project foresees in its destination four roofed platforms with a possibility of hotel construction under platform no 2. So far platform no 4 with roof and platform no 2 with superstructure have been made.

a mother! Little Krzysztof was born on October 6th, 25 minutes after midnight. We had a chance to see the growth and development of Krzys on a daily basis as Kasia had worked very often during pregnancy :) Congratulations to new parents and we wish them lots of happy hours!

The opening ceremony of the ARKADA GALLERY

With pleasure we would like to announce, that Arcada Gallery object in Poznan has received use permit. Also yesterday - October 1st 2008 opening gala took place. Apart from commercial spaces and display areas, there are offices of firms and institution in the building, not necessarily connected to interior arrangement.

„Modernization of the Year” contest is conducted in order to present architectural-constructional solutions applied in modernized plants with the use of modern technologies and materials. We had been invited to the XIII edition of Modernization of the year 2007 contest as substitute investor of the construction of CITY PARK in Poznan.We participated in modernization and adaptation of barrack complex into complex of exclusive apartments and commercial areas.

Kapitula Ogolnopolskiego Konkursu Modernizacji Roku 2007 and Stowarzyszenie Ochrony Narodowego Dziedzictwa Materialnego. For not the first time we have been very proud of City Park success. Residence Flotylla in Miedzyzdroje - 18.08.2008

With pleasure we inform that company PKO Inwestycje - Miedzyzdroje Sp. z o.o. commenced operations leading to execution of a new undertaking. The subject of the investment is the construction of a leisure-living complex along with infrastructure and adjacent objects, in ul. Gryf Pomorski 79 in Międzyzdroje. On the Investor’s request the CDI team took the function of the Investment’s General Coordinator. Our inspectors will be supervising the proper progress of construction works for the next 19 months. Reconstruction of RADWAR BUILDINGS in Warsaw

On 25 July 2008 we signed a contract with Company CNPEP RADWAR.
CDI will conduct investment supervision over the implementation of the Investment, based on extension and reconstruction of the office buildings, located in the region of Poligonowa and Ostrobramska streets in Warsaw. The function of the General Investment’s Contract is performed by Company Budimex Domex S.A. At the time of the Investment’s commencement the total complex space amounted to 15 412,80 m^2, and after the investment operations are complete the space will increase to 24 231,71 m^2. Currently disassembly works are underway, both inside and outside the buildings, just like the works related with preparation of the construction site.

New investment in Bydgoszcz in Fordonska street

On 09.07.2008 we signed a contract with the investor – company “Cel-Art
Sp. z o.o.”. The purpose of the investment is the creation of a commercial – service – office space object, construction – exhibition in nature. The object will be located in Fordonska street – one of the main streets of Bydgoszcz.
This location is characterized by the very attractive location and the comfortable approach, both by car and by public means of communication. Fordońska street connects the city center with the route leading to Torun and Warsaw.
CDI acts as the investment supervision over the execution of the planned investment. We have taken up the formal side of preparing the documents,
CDI office in Sopot has already created a terrain analysis.
Currently we are at the stage of selecting the designer.

The concept plans a four-storey building from Fordonska street and a one-storey building from the side of Brda river. The second floor is intended for exhibition spaces. The highest floors – 3rd and 4th will be occupied by office spaces. There are level differences in the building’s concept, which allow using the terrain under the exhibition space as an open ground car park. There are car park spaces in the ground floor. The approximate date for the commencement of construction works for the object is planned for the beginning of year 2009.

Arkada Gallery - News from the construction site!

On 06.06.2008 the perch hanging emphasized the completion of the 2nd stage of construction of the commercial – service – office space object: Galeria Arkada – CENTER FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INTERIOR EQUIPMENT

The works regarding the finishing of the commercial spaces progress according to the schedule. The stage related with marking the premises in the 1st and 2nd floor was completed – the Ground floor and the 1st floor of the building: partition walls and shop windows were erected, air-conditioning and electric system was constructed in the object. Another stage is the finishing of the common spaces. Currently windows in the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Gallery are being installed. The planned opening date for Galeria Arkada is OCTOBER 2008 – Please Visit! On 15 July 2008 we commenced transferring premises in the Ground floor of the Gallery to our Lessees. By the end of July we will have transferred premises located in the 1st floor of the Gallery. You are welcome to see pictures from the construction site

During the four-day Championships of Bydgoszcz of Primary Schools in Tennis 2008, 78 boys and 59 girls participated in single matches. “Tennis is a sports discipline, in which individuality prevails, however each child boldly represented its school, ran to every served-ball and fought valiantly for every point”.

"City Park" awarded!

Construction, in which CDI participated as a replacement investor achieved success! The “City Park” complex of apartments with commercial – service walkways in Poznan won the competition Budowa Roku 2007 in the category “Revitalized and modernized objects”, and was given the 2nd degree award. This complex of exclusive apartments and commercial areas is located in
a secession part of Poznan. The complex consists of three main buildings – historical objects located along the streets Wyspianskiego, Wojskowa and Ulanska, as well as a four-storey residence, referring in its architecture to the rest of the complex buildings. In the ground-floor of the two renovated buildings there are intimate commercial walkways. The building’s floors were transformed into lofts. We are glad that we could have participated
in such a prestigious implementation!

Integrating trip Majowka CDI

16-17 May 2008 passed as integration of the CDI team – Bydgoszcz, Poznan
and the Tri-City region, far from computer monitors and official meetings.

In Wiktorowo – a picturesque town –
we summarized all achievements of the company to date and we discussed the plans for the future. We had an opportunity to know one another,
as our team has just got new Employees. Common meals and integration plays produced unforgettable memories.

In a friendly atmosphere there was: a football match, an accelerated dance class and a paintball tournament. There was a bonfire accompanied with guitar playing, we took bow shots and rode horses. We can’t wait for the next meeting!

Construction Arcade - opening in September!

Construction Arcade is located in excellent spot of Poznan, on 229 Obornicka street. This three-storey building together with ground floor will function
as commercial-service-office center. The center will be occupied by institutions
and companies connected with building branch.

CDI - QALITY OF THE YEAR 2007

We have become one of the prizewinners of this year’s edition of Quality of the Year contest in “Service” category! The second edition of the contest was arranged by the editorial office of Legal Newspaper and Polish Center of Survey and Certification - the contest’s partner.

“During the last two years, Quality of the Year contest has demonstrated that it is worthwhile to support contractors acting on home market with their pro-quality strivings. It has also marked out among other similar ventures. The Quality of the Year is becoming the synonym of quality and clearly underlines reliability of the laureate companies. It confirms us in the conviction that it is essential to further participate in the contest and propagate the pro-quality way of thinking and managing through the quality” – said Dr Wojciech Henrykowski, deputy of the board and executive manager of Polish Center of Survey and Certification S.A.

Quality of the Year 2007 was directed to the contractors and companies, that pay particular attention to quality and high work standards. The main selection criterion was the company’s approach to the quality management. Selection of the laureates was determined by the quality systems implementation, consideration of high standards in the company’s mission, and involvement of employees with the quality improvement.

We are very happy with ou high work standards and high quality of the services we provide, and will continue to create our image as reliable partner.

The title of Quality of the Year has been for us a great success!

The construction works at Parcel Sorting Centre
in Solec Kujawski has been going on

CDI Euroinwest, as Project Engineer participates in construction of the establishment for one of the leading suppliers of logistical and courier services, DHL Poland Inc. Construction works has been proceeding according to the schedule. Here we present news about work’s progress at the building site.
CORE and FINGER Halls, both have steel constructions already assembled. Tinplate roofing has been continuing.
Steel concrete construction of reloading docks is in progress. The construction for roof installment of Social-Administrative Building is ready.
Simultaneously water supply and sewage disposal systems’ installation works and earthworkskeep going on. Soon, finishing works of Social-Administrative Building and outer wall lining works
of CORE and FINGER halls will begin.

CDI charity

Durning Christmas and New Year time our firm caused pleasure to the youngest neediest, willingly. We helped to provide House of Small Child at Stolarska Street in Bydgoszcz into necessary articles. Nearby we present works, which small participants of Workshops of Activieties Therapy for Physically Handicapped Persons from Modrzewiowa Street in Bydgoszczy gave to us. "Santa Claus” presented to little artists some musical equipments.

Co-ordination with Representatives DHL

On 13 december 2007 there was a meeting in matter a contract for the construction of a parcel sorting centre in the town of Solec Kujawski. Final
co-ordinations of record and realization of building of sorting centre were talked over. Realization in progress and building should be devoted to use in June 2008.

Construction Arcade

The finishing works in the first section of Construction Arcade in Poznan are underway. By the end of December 2007 the Investor will apply for an authorization for partial utilization of the building. On the day of acquiring the permission, the first lessees will move in into the new object, and the old building in Obornicka street 229 will be demolished. Simultaneously we are commencing an intensive process of commercialization of the newly-developed building. All persons interested in leasing retail and office space are encouraged to contact our Retail Office in Poznan!

Poznan International Fair
- We have conducted reviews!

During the first ten days of October 2007 we conducted a technical review of buildings included in the resources of Poznan International Fair. Our inspectors verified the quality of the existing buildings with total surface of 7 447,99 m^2.

Next our friend, Katarzyna is a mother! Little Alexander was delivered at 17 november 2007. They feel very well and baby is growing quickly!
